About Reffley
Youth Football Club...
The
Club was founded in 1982 by Mr. Peter Leishman et al. Peter remains The Club
President.
The Club is
located in the [Reffley area of King's
Lynn], off Wootton Road. It is well-established in the local community
and having celebrated its 21st Birthday in 2003, the Club continues to
thrive due to the efforts and commitment shown by the players and the
support they have from our coaches, committee and not least of all, their
parents.
In the 2007-08
season, the Club has 14 teams from U8's through to U16's, which
compete in the Mid-Norfolk Youth League and an U13's and U15's Girls team in the
Fenland & District Mini-Soccer League.
The Club also
has training sessions for Under 7's at Reffley Community School on Saturday
mornings, with a view
to these children entering the league the following year as Under 8's.
Reffley Youth
F.C. takes a highly responsible and professional approach to youth football
and the committee, including all team mangers, are well acquainted
with the F.A.'s Child Protection Policy and their responsibilities to the
children under their guidance and supervision.
All new and
existing managers are expected to gain the F.A.'s Level 1 Coaching
Certificate.
Most
notably, the Club achieved the Norfolk County FA [Charter
Standard] in October 2004, and went on to win three Norfolk County Charter
Standard Awards at the end of the 2005 season. The Club won the Norfolk
County Charter Standard Club of the Season Award, Paul Taylor won the
Norfolk County Charter Standard Coach of the Season award and Steve Tuck won
the Norfolk County Charter Standard Administrator of the Season Award. On
top of all this, Paul Taylor went on to win the Eastern Region Charter
Standard Coach of the Season.
The
Club continues to go from strength to strength. School-Clubs links have been
established around the King's Lynn area, the Reffley Invitation 6-a-side Mini-Soccer Tournament continues to flourish and the
two Reffley Girls are now well established.
According the
Peter Leishman, "Reffley Youth
F.C. is in safe hands, with a very bright future. The Club will continue its growth over the coming years and with the
dedication of all concerned, we remain confident of going from strength to
strength".
So, whilst
there is a dedicated, professional team of people running the Club today, it
is always ready to welcome in new people with an interest in helping and
developing our young players. Therefore, if you feel you have something to
