REFFLEY 'B' U8's
Manager: Andy Wilson

19 APR 2008: DOWNHAM 0-2 REFFLEY 'B' (at Downham)

Reffley came into this game after two fantastic performances last week.  Reffley started the strongest and were soon playing some good football.  Downham battled hard and at times the game became very scrappy.  Reffley eventually broke the deadlock when Joseph Kerry dribbled past the Downham defence and found the back of the net.  Reffley continued to push with Leighton Boughen doing some fine dribbling down the right wing.  To there credit Downham continued to battle, Reffley killed the game of from the Penalty spot after a Kieron Wingfield corner was handled.  Kieron Wingfield stepped up to score making the final score 2-0.

19 APR 2008: WIMBOTSHAM 0-3 REFFLEY 'B'  (at Downham) Friendly

Reffley were then involved in a friendly match against a newly formed Wimbotsham team.  Reffley dominated the first half and created plenty of chances but only managed a single Joseph Kerry goal.  The second half was more of the same with Reffley dominating and doing most of the attacking.  Reffley doubled there advantage with yet another fine Joseph Kerry goal.  Reffley completed a comfortable win when Joseph Kerry completed his hat trick.  This was another good team performance and we are looking forward to the summer tournaments and the league next year.

12 APR 2008: REFFLEY 'B' 1-0 DERSINGHAM 'B' (at Reffley)

Reffley made some changes with Max Fayers making his league debut in goal. Reffley started the game very brightly and were unlucky not to go 1-0 up within the first few minutes when Leighton Boughen hit the cross bar with a well struck shot.  Reffley continued to have the better of the first half, but they were unable to break the deadlock.

The second half started the as the first half finished with Reffley attacking and they eventually broke the deadlock when Joseph Kerry hit the back of the net.  This was a very good team performance with some great passing moves and a great debut in goal for Max Fayers who kept a clean sheet.

22 MAR 2008: REFFLEY 'B' 2-0 TERRINGTON (at Reffley)

After a long break between games Reffley started strongly and continued there fine passing moves, but both defences were on top.  In the second half Reffley started to take control and eventually broke the deadlock when Jack Jefferies chased a long clearance, stole the ball from the defender and put an unstoppable shot past the Terrington goalkeeper.  Reffley continued to press and were rewarded with there second goal after a fine run down the left wing by Joseph Kerry, his cross went into the net off of the Terrington Goalkeeper.  This was another great team performance with some very good football played.

01 MAR 2008: DERSINGHAM 2-0 REFFLEY 'B' (at Dersingham)

In a very evenly fought match Reffley were edged out 2-0 by a very well organised Dersingham Team.  The first half saw both teams playing attacking football, but neither team could break the deadlock.  The second half started evenly, but unfortunately Reffley made two mistakes and were punished both times.  Overall this was a very good team performance.

01 MAR 2008: DOWNHAM 0-0 REFFLEY 'B'  (at Dersingham) - Friendly

Reffley changed there formation in this friendly.  The first half saw Reffley do most of the attacking, but they were unable to find the back of the net.  At half time Reffley substituted 3 of the strongest players, and gave the fringe players a game.  The second half was more of a well matched game with both teams having some very good chances.

16 FEB 2008: HEACHAM 'A' 1-2 REFFLEY 'B' (at Heacham)

Reffley started the game as if they really wanted to win and put Heacham on the back foot from the first whistle.  Reffley were soon a goal up when Jordan Wilson popped up in the box to score his first goal of the season.  Reffley continued to pressure the Heacham defence and were rewarded with the second goal of the game with a well taken Joseph Kerry goal.  In the second half Reffley switched off and Heacham began to get into the game.  Heacham were rewarded with a consolation goal, when a corner was not cleared and the forward slid it into the net.

16 FEB 2008: CLENCHWARTON 2-0 REFFLEY 'B' (at Heacham)

Reffley started the game on the back foot with Clenchwarton attacking from the first whistle.  As time went on Reffley managed to gain some momentum, but they were unlucky to concede a fine goal just before half time.  To their credit Reffley did not give up and as the second half progressed managed to push the Clenchwarton team back.  The story of the season continued as they pushing for an equaliser they were hit on the counter attack and conceded the second goal.

An all round good team performance, but again luck was not on their side.

09 FEB 2008: FAKENHAM 1-0 REFFLEY 'B' (at Clenchwarton)

In a scrappy game Reffley were unlucky to lose 1-0.  It was a match of two evenly matched teams, although Fakenham did have the better of the first half which saw the only goal of the game.  In the second half Reffley came out fighting but unfortunately the chances fell to the wrong players and they could not find the net.  I would like to give a special mention to Joseph Kerry who was Reffleys best player by a mile.

08 DEC 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 4-1 WELLS (at Reffley)

In terrible conditions Reffley were rewarded with their third win of the season against a well organized Wells Team.  Reffley attacked from the first whistle and were awarded with a fine strike from Jack Jeffries, there second goal was a superb individual effort from Joseph Kerry.  In the second half Reffley continued to press and were awarded with a third goal through Kieron Wingfield.  To there credit Wells did not give up and were awarded with a consolation goal.  The final goal of the game was a well worked move involving all players and was finished by Max Fayers.

17 NOV 2007: WEST WINCH 'A' 3-1 REFFLEY 'B' (at West Winch)

In a tight and competitive game Reffley B were unfortunate to be on the end of a 3-1 loss.  West Winch A Started the stronger and soon had a 2-0 lead, but to there credit Reffley did not give up against there older rivals.  At half time Reffley made some changes and were getting the better of West Winch, until West Winch scored a third on the break.  In the last 5 Minutes Reffley started to get on top and were rewarded with a fine Joseph Kerry finish.  Reffley had further chances but could not convert them and West Winch held on for a 3-1 victory.  Overall this was a fantastic team performance.

17 NOV 2007: WOOTTONS 0-4 REFFLEY 'B' (at West Winch)

Hip Hip Hooray Reffley Managed their first win of the season.  Reffley continued there good work from the first game to overcome Woottons 4-0.  Reffley started brightly and were soon 1-0 up with a well taken Joseph Kerry Goal.  Reffley continued to play some good football and were soon 2-0 up when Jack Jeffries found the back of the net.  To their credit Woottons continued to attack but found Jay Sansom and Kieron Wingfield on top form.  In the second half Reffley continued to attack and scored again through Joseph Kerry.  This was soon followed by Jack Jeffries second goal of the game.  In the dying seconds Reffley were awarded a Penalty. but unfortunately Joseph was unable to get his hat trick due to a fine save from the Woottons Goalkeeper.

27 OCT 2007: WATLINGTON 2-0 REFFLEY 'B' (at Watlington)

Reffley B were weakened in this game due to two key players being unavailable.  Again Reffleys inability to find the net and mistakes cost us the game.  Watlington running out 2-0 winners.

27 OCT 2007: WEST WINCH 'B' 2-1 REFFLEY 'B' (at Watlington)

Reffley B 2nd set of fixtures saw a trip to Watlington.  The first game was against an in from West Winch B Team.  In an even match the rub of the green ran against Reffley.  Reffley were unfortunate to be 2-1 down at half time (scorer Kieron Wingfield – Penalty).  In the second half Reffley were made to pay for the mistakes and inability to score.  The Final score being 4-1.

06 OCT 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 0-2 REFFLEY 'A'

A tight and even game between the two well organised Reffley teams went the way of Reffley A.  Both teams had good chances in the first half but Reffley B were unable to find the back of the net.  Reffley A led 1-0 at the break.  Reffley B started the half the better team but again were made to pay for missing good chances as Reffley A broke away in the last minute to give them a 2-0 victory.  On another day Reffley B would have run out winners, but unfortunately this was not to be.

06 OCT 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 0-1 HEACHAM 'B'

Reffleys first league game together saw a good team performance.  Most of the play was in the Heacham half but unfortunately Reffley B could not score and were caught with a sucker punch in the last minute to lose the game 1-0.
