Manager: Martin Higgins |
SAT
07 APR 2007: REFFLEY 0-1 WELLS (at Reffley)
Last fixture date of the season and finally a home game for the
U8's.
Reffley played very well in this game but were unfortunate losers to a
second half goal-mouth scramble. Both teams seemed quite even bearing in
mind their seasons so far but the game ended 0-1 to Wells.
SAT 07 APR 2007: REFFLEY 1-3 DERSINGHAM 'B' (at Reffley)
The boys started very well in this game and scored first through
Lewis Neve to put a little shock through the Dersingham team &
supporters and nearly cause an upset in the title race! However Dersingham
showed their class and scored 3 more to secure a shared title with
Woottons B.
Well done to the Reffley Team this season
and lets look forward to next season as U9's!
Finally Thanks to Referee Paul Taylor and
congratulations to Both Dersingham B & Woottons B on their Joint U8's
title win.

SAT
17 FEB 2007: DERSINGHAM 'A' 2-5 REFFLEY
After a slow start which saw the team 2-1 down at half time with the
Reffley goal scored by Owen Norris they bounced back to score 4
more without reply. Lewis Neve got his second of the season and Danny
Setchell scored his first hat trick of the season which included a 15
yard screamer in off the post and a top corner free kick.
Well done boys and thanks & congratulations must go to Andrew Neve who
took charge of the team today at short notice.
SAT 17 FEB 2007: WOOTTONS 'B' 4-0 REFFLEY
Reffley played some good football but having played the previous game were
up against a very good Woottons side who came out worthy 4-0 winners. This
was an improvement on the 5-0 defeat back at the start of the season.
Reffley Squad: Zac, Will, Owen, Gavin, Danny,
Thomas, Michael & Lewis.

SAT
27 JAN 2007: EAST LYNN 1-2 REFFLEY (at East Lynn)
Reffley started strongly with Lewis Neve working hard and
setting up the first goal for Danny Setchell. East Lynn bounced
back as the game looked quite even and scored an equaliser after
disastrous defending. After half time the boys regrouped and produced some
good football with some nice passing and Ryan Higgins scored the
second and the winner with 5 minutes to go.
Well done to both East Lynn & Reffley U8's. (Captain Danny Setchell)
SAT 27 JAN 2007: MARHAM 1-0 REFFLEY - Friendly (at East Lynn)
Ryan & Tommy shared the goalkeeping as Zac had a go on
pitch and the boys defending went out of the window for Marham to take the
lead. However they did try hard to score an equaliser but it never came
leaving Marham the victory. (Captain Will Hawes)

SAT
09 DEC 2006: CLENCHWARTON 1-3 REFFLEY (at Terrington)
Stand-in goalkeeper Michael Bibb was outstanding today and his
contribution toward a well overdue Reffley win was very satisfying. Lewis
Neve opened the scoring which was just reward for his battling up
front. This was followed by a 3 player move which left Will Hawes putting Danny
Setchell through to score the second making it 2-0 at half time. The
second half saw the Reffley boys concentration and hearing ability
disappear and Clenchwarton were given numerous chances to score and were
rewarded eventually scoring to make it 2-1. The boys then managed to
bounce back and Ryan Higgins sealed the victory after some very
hard work.
SAT 09 DEC 2006: TERRINGTON 2-0 REFFLEY (at Terrington)
Unfortunately the Reffley boys struggled in this fixture and although
Ryan Higgins made a few saves in goal the concentration and willpower of
some of the team was faltering. The team went in 0-0 at half time and not
even a few E numbers (Jaffa Cakes) could perk the boys up. Michael Bibb
went back in goal with Ryan back on pitch. Lewis Neve then scored an own
goal direct from a Terrington corner which the Ref disallowed because he
was not ready (that's lucky I hear you think?). Well not really as he
headed the ball past Michael from another Terrington corner a minute
later! The second goal came from a free kick and was a top corner special
with Michael having no chance.
Well done boys, nice to see you score a few and get a win, onwards &
upwards!!!
Squad: Michael Bibb, Lewis Neve, Danny Setchell,
Gavin Cooper, Ryan Higgins, Owen Norris, Thomas Hillard, Cameron Short
& Will Hawes.

SAT
18 NOV 2006: DOWNHAM 0-0 REEFLEY (at Downham)
Yet another away fixture for the boys who battled throughout this game but
were not rewarded with a goal even though chances were created. Some
excellent work from Danny Setchell really kept the team in the game and
his work rate was superb.
SAT 18 NOV 2006: WOOTTONS 'A' 3-0 REFFLEY (at Downham)
Three very quick goals killed this game with the Reffley Boys at sixes and
sevens with a chalk and cheese performance, however they battled once
they settled down and kept the score at 3-0.
Squad: Zach, Thomas, Gavin, Ryan, Danny, Michael,
Will, Owen and Cameron.

SAT
28 OCT 2006: FAKENHAM 7-1 REFFLEY (at Fakenham)
A trip to Fakenham but the boys were not at the races today and lost
convincingly. Owen Norris managed a consolation goal to make it 3-1 but
unfortunately Reffley struggled further conceding 4 more goals.
SAT 28 OCT 2006: HEACHAM 2-1 REFFLEY (at Fakenham)
Reffley started well with some good defending from Cameron Short &
Owen Norris and looked stronger than their opposition scoring first
through Danny Setchell's angled drive. The game dwindled away and Heacham
scored twice to make it 2-1. The second half saw some x-rated tackling
first from Ryan Higgins which led to a Heacham penalty which was saved by
stand in keeper Michael Bibb and then from Cameron who I think wanted to
make Ryan's challenge look a bit soft! Two tackles not from the coaching
manual!!!! Finally well done Michael for the penalty save and standing in
as keeper.
Squad:- Gavin
Cooper, Ryan Higgins, Cameron Short, Danny Setchell, Owen Norris, Thomas
Hillard, Lewis Neve & Michael Bibb.

SAT
07 OCT 2006: MARHAM 0-2 REFFLEY (at Feltwell)
Reffley began strongly and scored through Danny Setchell after a
long through ball from Ryan Higgins. There were plenty of other chances
with Lewis Neve especially being stopped on numerous occasions by a very
brave Marham goalkeeper. The second half saw more Reffley pressure and a
free kick won outside the area was converted by Ryan Higgins to
make it 2-0. Excellent defending from Owen Norris helped Zac Massingham to
keep a clean sheet and the game finished 2-0.
SAT 07 OCT 2006: FELTWELL 0-4 REFFLEY (at Feltwell)
The U8's got involved straight away in this game and did not let
Feltwell settle. The first goal came from Ryan Higgins after good
work from Will Hawes, Cameron Short & Thomas Hillard and Ryan made
it two with another free kick which went in off the post to the squads joy
and the half ended 2-0. The second half saw more Reffley pressure and an
excellent run from Gavin Cooper whom after avoiding two tackles was
brought down in the Feltwell box for a Reffley penalty. Ryan Higgins stepped
up and scored for his hat-trick and the teams third goal. The game was
sealed with a Danny Setchell goal to make it 4-0 which was a just
reward for both his and the teams effort throughout. All the boys wish
Micheal Bibb a speedy recovery who could not play today through illness.
Squad. Zac Massingham, Ryan Higgins, Danny
Setchell, Cameron Short, Will Hawes, Gavin Cooper, Lewis Neve, Thomas
Hillard & Owen Norris.

16 SEPT 2006: REFFLEY 1-0 TERRINGTON (at Reffley)
Reffley U8's started their first ever season with a 1-0 win against
Terrington Tigers in a very close and entertaining match which saw both
teams create chances. Excellent tackles from Michael Bibb in defence and
good work from Will Hawes and Cameron Short protected Zac Massingham in
the Reffley goal upto half time. The only goal came midway through the
second half scored by Ryan Higgins which then spurred Reffley on in both
defence and attack with Lewis Neve, Danny Setchell, Owen Norris, Gavin
Cooper and Ryan Higgins all fighting hard for a victory which may have
resulted in more goals but for excellent goalkeeping by Terrington.
SAT 16 SEPT 2006: REFFLEY 0-4 WOOTTONS 'B' (at
Reffley)
Reffley battled throughout this game but were stunned by some
excellent football played by Woottons B and they managed to keep the score
down to 1-0 at half time. The boys all looked a little tired in the second
half and eventually faltered conceding another 3 goals. Finally Well done
to Terrington & Woottons B and well played all the Reffley Squad who
never gave up.
Reffley Squad. Zac Massingham, Ryan Higgins,
Danny Setchell, Lewis Neve, Cameron Short, Gavin Cooper, Owen Norris, Will
Hawes and Michael Bibb.
Thanks To Our Referee Mr Stuart Freeman.
