REPORT
Reffley v Clenchwarton: A real good game played with Reffley just
on top. Reffley came close on two occasions with the ball just not going
in. Result: 0-0 draw.
Reffley v Watlington: Another good game with Watlington going 1-0 up
in the first half. A few changes at half time saw Reffley dig in well to
equalise through a Jack Hawes free kick. Result: 1-1 draw.
Reffley v Hungate: A better performance from Reffley who started to
play with confidence, coming out winner with goals from Ben Harris and
Harry Evans. Result: 2-0 win.
Reffley v Three Holes: A very close game with Reffley playing well
to get control of the ball and searching for that winning goal. Despite
all the team working hard, Three Holes scored the only goal of the game.
Well done to all the lads. Result: 0-1 defeat.

Reffley v Deaconians Yellows: Deaconians scored the only goal of

Reffley v Sawtry Blue Sox: Reffley played a lot better, passing the

on the counter-attack.
Reffley v Eye Utd: In their last game, Reffley passed to ball and
battled well. With everybody pushing up for a goal, Reffley were open at

REFFLEY U8's
(Ryan Higgins. Ashley Johnson. Callum Chapman. Callum Hawes. Jack Hawes.
Harry Evans. Ben Harris. Danny Setchell)
|
REPORT
Reffley U8's finished runners-up playing possibly their best football for
a while. They started against the hosts Clenchwarton Orange and won 1-0 with a goal from
Ben
Harris in a tight first match.
This was then followed by a hard fought draw with Hungate which saw
Callum
Hawes score a fantastic goal worthy of Maradona after he twisted and
turned past 3 players to smash the ball in from a tight angle.
Next for Reffley was Clenchwarton Yellows who struggled to keep the hard
working Reffley boys in check whose efforts paid off with goals from
Callum Hawes (2), Ben Harris and one from the overall player of the
tournament, Danny Setchell, who worked tirelessly all day.
The last match meant Reffley had to secure a point against a very strong
Dersingham side and after 10 mins with both sides equal, Dersingham scored
a cracker to then go on and win the tournament.
Overall a very much improved performance from the whole team today which
was very pleasing as it was my last match in charge of this team. I would
like to wish Vince Chapman, all the boys and their parents all the very
best for the future at Reffley FC and thank them for their support
throughout.

REFFLEY U8's 'B': Declan
Simper, Callum Nugent, Oliver Pocket, Keenan Thompson, Thomas Howard, Ryan
Bowman, Jamie Wilson, Daniel Catterwell
|
REPORT
This was Reffley U8's 'B' first
tournament. The boys played some excellent football in their first taste
of competitive football.
REFFLEY v SHOULDHAM: Reffley came out
fighting from the whistle and gained a well deserved draw . Ryan Bowman
scored Reffley's goal.
REFFLEY v WATTLINGTON: Again a great battle. A draw would have been a fair
result, but Reffley went down to a dubious free kick.
REFFLEY v DOWNHAM: Reffley found Downham too
strong to handle and even though they were out-foxed in parts of the park,
the boys didn't give up.
REFFLEY v HUNGATE: Reffley made too many
mistakes at back which cost them the game.
REFFLEY v SHOULDHAM: Reffley just could not
find an equaliser. Thomas Howard and Declan Simper scored
for Reffley.
REFFLEY v WATTLINGTON: A better display from
Reffley this time around.
REFFLEY v DOWNHAM: Reffley went down 0-1 in
a much closer game second time round to a strong Downham side.
REFFLEY v HUNGATE: Reffley's best display
of the day was saved for their last game. Oliver Pocket scored two
great goals, with a poacher's strike from Jamie Wilson.
It was nice to hear from other coaches that
Reffley improved as the tournament went on. Well done boys keep it up.

REFFLEY U8's 'A' (Ashley Johnson Callum Chapman, Jack Hawes, Harry Evans, Callum Hawes, Ben
Harris, Jordan Turner)
|
REPORT
Reffley 'A' - Reffley 'B': both teams played really well in this
end-to-end tussle with both teams going for goal. Callum Hawes got
the winning goal for a 1-0 win.
Reffley 'A' - Hungate: Reffley had a another really good game, working
hard and playing good passing football. Their efforts paid off finally
with a Jordan Turner winning goal (1-0).
Leverington - Reffley 'A': this was a fantastic game of passing football.
All the Reffley team played well together, helping each other out. Despite
going 0-1 down, they came back to lead 3-1 with goals from Ben Harris and
two from Jordan Turner. Leverington then came back to draw 3-3.
MotM - the whole team.
Reffley 'A' - Woottons: this was a very close game with Wootton winning
1-0.
Reffley 'A' - Clenchwarton: Reffley needed to win this one to come runners
up and they pulled it out off the bag with a fantastic team work and all
the parents giving their all for the team. Two goals from Jordan Turner
secured the win. MotM - the whole team, who pulled together and worked
very hard.

REFFLEY U8's 'B' (Declan
Simper, Thomas Howard, Callum Nugent, Ryan Bowman, Connor Leggett, Jamie
Wilson, Oliver Pocket, Daniel Catterwell)
|
REPORT
This was Reffley U8's 'B' second tournament in as many weeks. They had a
superb tournament playing much more organised and feeling more confident.
In their first game, they played Reffley 'A' which was a superb game.
Reffley 'A' played the better football but the 'B' side battled them all
the way to a 0-1 loss, which despite the score-line was a great game.
In their next game, they came up against Hungate who Reffley had beaten at
Shouldham the previous week, but unfortunately they could not break
them down this time and narrowly lost 0-1.
Next up was Clenchwarton who were a very organised side and were too
strong for Reffley. Clenchwarton took the match by two goals but the
Reffley boys still battled hard.
A well deserved draw against L & B Boys. Reffley could have snatched
their first win here but it was not to be. However, it was a great team
display.
Finally, in their last game, Reffley played their best football, picking
up a point off Woottons and ending the day the only team to do so, which
was a great boost for the team.
Well done boys excellent display all day given the very hot conditions -
WELL DONE.
A thank you to the player's parents and all the supporters of Reffley 'A'
who supported the 'B' team as well as their own team - thank you very much.

(Pre-Season) Mini-Soccer Tournament
|
13 August 2006
|
|
Reffley U9's Squad: Ashley
Johnson, Callum Chapman, Jordan Turner, Jack Hawes, Callum Hawes, Harry
Evans, Ben Harris, Benedict Hazle, Josh Murray
|
REPORT
Reffley v Dersingham: Always having had a very close game with
Dersingham, both teams cancelled each other out resulting in a 0-0
draw.
Woottons v Reffley: With Reffley got a little bit better the more
they played. A corner for Reffley went in for an own goal, tio give
Reffley a 1-0 win.
Reffley v Clenchwarton: Another very close encounter - both teams
canceled each other out yet again. The only goal came from a Clenchwarton
corner, with the ball bouncing off different players to go in. Lost 0-1.
St Edmundsbury v Reffley: Reffley needed to win the last three
games and they got the start they needed to pick themselves up and to get
over the last result. They did well to win 3-0.
Leverington 'B' v Reffley: Another good game between both teams
with all the players digging in well, helping each other out and Reffley
won 1-0.
Wasps v Reffley: This was the game Reffley had to win and they did
do too, 3-0 - a great result.
Other results also went Reffley's way, which meant Reffley won the
tournament on goal difference.
Reffley's MotT: The whole team for the way they battled on the day. Vince
and Jimmy would like to thank the players and parents for the support they
have given us and look forward to the new season ahead.
