TOURNAMENT REPORT
Traveling over to the back of beyond i felt confident of having a good
tournament. And so it turned out to be our best tournament since forming
as Reffley B . The group consisted of 5 teams with one being our close
rival's Watlington.
Game 1 REFFLEY 2 WATTLINGTON 1
As in our league game this was tough but today we battled through
and forced Watlington on the back foot we went ahead through a penalty
that was blasted by the keeper by Jamie Wilson. Jamie hit the that hard
that the Watlington keeper had to go off with a badly twisted hand. Then
Watlington scored and i thought that was our lot .But to the credit of the
boy's they kept attacking and got their just reserve with another penalty
converted by Finlay Bloodworth. A great start with a win.
Game 2 REFFLEY 1 WISBECH ACORNS 0
Said to the boy's same again and so they did working the ball well
from defence we created some chances against an organised acorn side . The
vital strike coming from the inform Jamie Wilson . At this moment in time
none us could believe it we were in heaven. Top of our group wow.
Game 3 REFFLEY 0 WISBECH ST MARY PURPLE A 2
Before this game I said to the boy's to keep their head's not to get
carried away. I think the size of the Wisbech boy's affected their game .
We sat back and got punished by two superb strikes. But credit to the
boy's who never gave up.
Game 4 REFFLEY 0 MARCH SOCCER SCHOOL 0
A win would put us through as second place at the worst .So
gathered the boy's in told them to lift their game enjoy it and we could
make the last eight. This was a tight game with few opportunities at both
end's .Reffley's hero was Daniel with a point blank save in the dying
second's of the game well done boy's great tournament.
QUARTER FINAL'S REFFLEY 0 ELY
CRUSADER'S 1
We made it superb for the boy's who deserved to be there. We went
through as best third place just missing out on second place by 1 goal.
Said to the boy's this is a bonus just go out and enjoy it no matter what
the score was. And they went out and played some excellent football losing
one nil. This team having played Wootton B in their group and beating them
4 1.
So we could'nt ask anymore off the boy's. WELL DONE TO ALL OF YOU WERE
SUPERB.
