REFFLEY 'B' U8's
Managers: Stuart Freeman & Mark Booker

SAT 14 APR 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 1-4 FAKENHAM (at Reffley)

The boy's knew this would be there stiffest challenge to date. The game started off at a good pace with few chances. We started with three playing at the back to try and holt the Fakenham onslaught. Halfway through the first half Fakenham took the lead. There were no other real chance's for either side to score untill a minute from half time when Finlay Bloodworth fired a rocket at the Fakenham goalkeeper who fumbled the ball to see it roll over the line. The hero of the first half was goalkeeper Declan Simper who made some outstanding saves.

The second half we changed the team around put in a midfield and we were not the same as the first half. Fakenham going on to score three more goal's also playing some lovely one touch football. Well done Fakenham. Overall a superb performance from the boy's could'nt ask any more of them.

SAT 14 APR 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 0-0 CLENCHWARTON (at Reffley)

Another hard game for us. Thought we would struggle against Clenchwarton but for long spells we looked quite comfortable. End to end action again, the boys battled for everything. Both sides having chances to score Clenchwarton were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box. Which Daniel Catterwell saved brilliantly. Again we could'nt ask any more of the boys. This was a great end to our first season. WELL DONE BOYS. Also thanks to Kayleigh for refereeing.

SAT 31 MAR 2007: HUNGATE 0-1 REFFLEY 'B' (at Hungate)

Hungate started brightly quickly putting the Reffley defence under pressure. Reffley withstood and took control of the game, restricting Hungate to occasional breaks upfield. With Finlay pulling the strings in midfield, ably supported by Connor, Ryan and Jamie, Reffley dominated possession creating many good opportunities to score only to find the Hungate keeper in good form. Daniel and Thomas came on at the start of the 2nd half for Reffley, and with most of the play in the Hungate half continued to create the better chances. Eventually the pressure told when Finlay Bloodworth received the ball nearly 20 yds out, controlled the ball and hit a terrific shot into the bottom left hand corner. With time running out Hungate pressed for an equaliser only to find the keeper, Declan, and defenders Callum and Keenan just to difficult to get passed. With all the players totally committed the Player of the Match goes to the whole team.

SAT 31 MAR 2007: ST. EDMUNDS PRIDE 2-1 REFFLEY 'B' (at Hungate)

A slow start from Reffley allowed St Edmunds to take control of the game. Eventually the early pressure told and St Edmunds took the lead. Straight from the restart Reffley got back into the game and started to dominate possession. Good defending and a poor final pass prevented Reffley finding the equaliser. Trailing at the break Reffley piled on the pressure in the 2nd half. Keenan Thompson knocked a high ball into the box and a mistake from the St Edmonds keeper allowed the ball to bounce through into the net for a deserved equaliser. Play swung from one end to the other as both teams went looking for the winning goal. Chances were missed at both ends before the ball broke lose in the Reffley area and St Edmunds reacted quickest to score. With time running out Reffley pushed St Edmunds back and were unlucky not to equalise at the end. This was a good performance from both teams and a draw would have been a fairer result. For his never say die attitude and willingness to run himself into the ground, Reffley's Player of the Match goes to Ryan.

SAT 17 MAR 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 2-1 TILNEY - (at Reffley)

Big game for both side's this one straight from the off Reffley attacked and had made several chances to score but as in previous game's just could not find the net. Just before the half time whistle Tilney took the lead from some poor marking by Reffley. The second half was much the same s the first half Reffley having almost all the possession we finally broke away and Jamie Wilson scored a great goal to bring us level. Jamie scored again towards the end with some nice foot work on the goal line. All round another tireless display from the boy's who deserved the win credit to Tilney who played their part in a great game of football .

Thanks to Kayleigh for refereeing

SAT 17 MAR 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 0-1 EAST LYNN - (at Reffley)

This was a friendly game but both side's played for a win Reffley played as they did in the first game. East lynn played the ball around the park well creating chances to score but were denied by Declan Simper in goal for Reffley. Reffley almost took the lead when Thomas Howard done a nice turn on his defender only to see his shot go wide of the post. Overall was a great display from both side's with east lynn just edging the win well done boy's.

SAT 24 FEB 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 0-2 WOOTTONS 'A' - League KO Cup - Last 16 (at Watlington)

Reffley conceded a goal in each half as they lost to a battling Woottons side.

Starting brightly Reffley passed the ball nicely before conceding a sloppy goal due to poor defending. Trying to get back into the game, Reffley stopped playing passing football in a rush to get upfield, allowing Woottons to dominate possession, but much improved defending from Callum and Keenan prevented any further danger.

The second half went very much the same way as the first, with Woottons scoring again. Connor, playing on the left wing caused Woottons some problems but Reffley were unable to put the ball in the net when the chance came.

Credit to all the Reffley players who never gave up and battled all the way to the final whistle.

SAT 27 JAN 2007: REFFLEY 'B' 0-0 WEST WINCH (at Reffley)

This was more like the Reffley I know. They battled for every ball, played as unit and showed plenty of grit. We penned west winch in their half for most of the first half just unable to find a final touch to break the deadlock. Much the same in the second half we continued to press forward and created opportunities to score. At the close west winch came close to scoring on a couple of times.

Well boys great display hope we can carry this forward into February. Thanks to our ref KAYLEIGH .

SAT 27 JAN 2007: REFLFEY 'B' V REFFLEY 'A' - Friendly (at Reffley)

Awaiting Match Report...

SAT 09 DEC 2006: DERSINGHAM 'A' 3-0 REFFLEY (at Dersingham)

A great start from Reffley who matched Dersingham ball for ball .After 20 minute's still no score. Then one lapse let Dersingham in on goal and they took their chance after that they never looked back scoring two more goal's.

SAT 09 DEC 2006: HEACHAM 2-0 REFFLEY (at Dersingham)

A poor display from Reffley we never got started in this game going down two goals to nil.

(REFFLEY 'B' MUST REMEMBER THAT FOOTBALL IS A GAME OF TWO HALVES)

SAT 25 NOV 2006: DOWNHAM 3-0 REFFLEY (at Dersingham)

Reffley started strong against a well organised Downham side both side's making early chances. Downham broke the deadlock and went on to score two more goal's .But a solid performance from the Reffley boys who never gave up.

MotM: The whole team.

SAT 25 NOV 2006: DERSINGHAM 'B' 0-3 REFFLEY (at Dersingham)

Reffley controlled this game from start to finish scoring three goals. The first a penalty scored by Finlay Bloodworth. Then Thomas Howard added a second with a good finish and finally Keenan Thompson scored his first goal for the club.

Credit to Dersingham who never gave up.

More display's like this one and surely the goal's will flow well done to the whole team.

MotM: The whole team.

SAT 11 NOV 2006: WOOTTONS 'B' 4-1 REFFLEY (at Woottons)

A tough game for Reffley who were always up against it in this game. We finished strong at half time with a goal from Jamie Wilson

Woottons 2 Reffley 1 at half time.

The second half saw some some fine football from both sides with the Woottons going on to score two more goal's. Wottons played some lovely pass and move football. Well boys in what was a tough game.

SAT 11 NOV 2006: FELTWELL 2-4 REFFLEY (at Woottons)

A superb game from Reffley. After first match we were much sharper and played pass and move. We went on and scored four superb goal's. Our goal keeper played out and what a difference Declan made, scoring two goal's and helping to provide for the other two goal's. Other scorer's were Connor Leggett, and Finlay Bloodworth.

Well done to the whole team on an excellent display. Special mention to stand in keeper Callum Nugent who made some fine saves between the post's.
SAT 07 OCT 2006: REFFLEY 0-0 WOOTTONS 'A' (at Reffley School)

A game with few chances - the best chance falling to Woottons but it was met with a fine save from Declan Simper. A good result for Reffley in a sporting game.

SAT 07 OCT 2006: REFFLEY 0-1 WATLINGTON (at Reffley School)

What a game this was - end-to-end from start to finish. New signings George and Finlay both had a great game. Both sides played some nice one touch football ending in shots which were well saved by both 'keepers.

The winning goal came on the back of some immense pressure from Watlington, during the built up of which, they hit the post 3 times. Overall Reffley were all well pleased with the team's performance. Keep it up boys!

Reffley MotM: Declan Simper for making some excellent saves.

Thanks to Kayleigh Taylor for refereeing.

SAT 23 SEPTEMBER 2006: REFFLEY 'A' 5-1 REFFLEY 'B' (at Reffley School)

Our first league game as a team and it came as a bit of a shock to the lad's. With a big pitch and up against a very focused Reffley 'A' side, we battled well and played some nice football at times, but unfortunately found Reffley 'A' too strong on this occasion. Thomas Howard scored a stunning strike in the top corner which would have beaten any keeper.

SAT 23 SEPTEMBER 2006: REFFLEY 'B' 1-0 SHOULDHAM (at Reffley School)

Reffley 'B' looked a different team compared to the first match. The boys tackled well and passed as a team. Everyone gave 110%. Jamie Wilson scored from a back flick - well done Jamie. All the hard work in training paid off in this game.

Reffley 'B' MotM: The entire team!
