2006: REFFLEY 2-1 HEACHAM (U9's KO Cup - S/F) - at Holt
Reffley started slowly and were caught out by a strong Heacham
side who took an early lead. Reffley remained solid though and kept
battling in a game which was end to end with each team having short spells
when they were on top. After a few missed opportunities by Reffley Nathaniel
Hazel finally found the equaliser shortly before half time. This had
now set up a tense and exciting second half with both teams pushing hard
to find the goal to put them through to the final. With a good attacking
move and a whipped in cross, Nathaniel Hazel put the ball in the
back of the net with a well-taken volley. Both teams carried on with a
high work rate but neither could find another goal and Reffley were the
relieved winners. Well done to both teams for a very tense but exciting
game. |

2006: REFFLEY 1-1
(3-4 pens) DOWNHAM A (U9's KO Cup -
Final) - at Holt
With two evenly matched teams this was always going to be a
tight game. Reffley started well and took an early lead with a long range
shot from Daniel Howlett. Both teams had chances during the first
half and Downham scored an equaliser right on half time. Downham were on
top for most of the second half with Reffley having to defend hard and
goal keeper Ben Berwick kept them in the game with some excellent saves.
As the end of the game approached both teams had chances of taking the win
but it ended in a draw and had to be decided by penalties. Both teams took
their penalties well but it was to be Downham's day as they clinched the
win 4-3. Congratulations to Downham and well played Reffley. |

April 2006: REFFLEY 0-0 DERSINGHAM A (at Reffley)
A hard fought match between two teams who have had a good season. Both
teams came out strong at the start with Dersingham slightly having the
edge but this did not deter Reffley as they battled for the ball and began
to get their passing game going. Dersingham came close on a few occasions
but were stopped by 'keeper Ben Berwick or were off target. Reffley also
had some good opportunities which were foiled by a good performance from
the Dersingham 'keeper. Neither team managed to break the deadlock and the
game ended goal less.
8 April 2006: REFFLEY 5-1 NORTH LYNN B (at Reffley) - Friendly
In their final league match of the season Reffley were made to
work hard by North Lynn. Reffley were going forward from the start but
despite good work from Nathaniel Hazel the North Lynn defence held out
until well into the first half. Daniel Howlett finally managed to
open the scoring which was quickly followed by two goals from Cameron
Hague. A well taken shot from North Lynn brought the game back to 3-1.
Two further goals came from Daniel Howlett as he took on the North
Lynn defence to complete his hat trick and end Reffley's season on a
winning note.
Well done to the whole Reffley squad for a good season and good luck in
the Knockout Cup. Keep up the good work.

March 2006: REFFLEY 2-0 WOOTTON B (at Reffley)
Reffley started poorly compared to their recent form but
managed to come out the winners in a closely contested game. Reffley
created more chances and a goal from Cameron Hague put them in the
lead. With most of the action happening in midfield and with both teams
unable to make the most of their chances this was the score at half time.
Both teams continued the midfield battle after the break and eventually
Reffley made the game safe when Daniel Howlett scored their second
goal. Another solid display by the defence and a fifth consecutive clean
sheet for keeper Ben Berwick.

March 2006: REFFLEY 12-0 DOWNHAM B (at Reffley) - Cup 2nd Round
Reffley were in total control in a one sided match in which
keeper Ben Berwick only had to make one save. The passing and movement of
the whole Reffley team created a steady flow of goals as they attacked the
Downham goal. The goals came from Cameron Hague (4), Lewis Davenport (2),
Daniel Howlett, and Aaron Pyper, who opened his scoring for Reffley with a
hat trick.
11 March 2006: REFFLEY 5-0 CLENCHWARTON (at Reffley) - Cup Q/F
Reffley made it through to the semi finals of the Knock out
cup with a convincing win over Clenchwarton. In the first five minutes
Reffley had several chances stopped on the line before Cameron Hague
opened the scoring. Aidan Grange and Kai Neve defended well to stop
Clenchwarton getting chances on goal. Nathaniel Hazel showed good speed
and awareness to break down the defence and open up the scoring chances
for the Reffley team. Daniel Howlett scored a hat trick to put the result
beyond doubt and Kai Gilkerson wrapped up the game with an excellent
strike.

February 2006: EAST LYNN 2-1 REFFLEY (at East Lynn)
Reffley knew that they were in for a hard game against the
current league leaders and this seemed the case as East Lynn took an early
lead. Reffley then picked up their game and started to play some of their
best football so far this season. They were solid at the back and were
pressing forwards all the time and creating good chances. Reffley finished
the first half on top but needed a much deserved goal.
Reffley started the second half well but could not finish their numerous
chances. With about five minutes to go Cameron Hague finally found
the back of the net and a win now looked possible. However, with the last
kick of the match East Lynn scored again to take all three points when a
draw may have been a fairer result.
11 February 2006: CLENCHWARTON 2-2 REFFLEY (at
East Lynn)
Reffley's second difficult match of the day against second placed
Clenchwarton saw the points shared at the end of another very close match.
The passing and movement shown by both teams, together with excellent
defending, made for an exciting but tense match for both players and
spectators. Cameron Hague opened the scoring early in the first
half and although there were several more chances before the break Reffley
were unable to get another goal before Clenchwarton equalised.
The second half saw Clenchwarton take the lead and again both sides had
several chances to score but Reffley finally managed to get the equaliser
through Daniel Howlett with a shot from outside the box.
Well done to all the Reffley team for two well played matches.

17 December 2005: FAKENHAM 6-0 REFFLEY (at
Woottons)
On an extremely cold morning Reffley played their worst game so far
this season, appearing to freeze up in line with the temperature. Fakenham
opened the scoring with a well struck goal from outside the box. Reffley
were unable to find their passes and were too slow in decision making
which gave Fakenham time to win the ball back and put the defence under
constant pressure. At half time Fakenham were 3-0 up and although Reffley
stemmed the goals for several minutes after the restart, the final score
of 6-0 was unfortunately a fair reflection of the way Reffley played.

December 2005: REFFLEY V DOWNHAM 'A' (at Reffley)
Reffley started slowly unlike in recent games and never seemed
to pick things up as the game progressed. Daniel Howlett opened the
scoring when Reffley managed to get some passing going and a goal from Cameron
Hague gave them a two goal lead at half time.
This lead never looked comfortable as Downham were constantly pressing
with some well taken set pieces from corners, which put Reffley under
pressure. Shortly after half time Downham scored from a penalty and
swiftly followed up with their second goal. After that Reffley had to soak
up a lot of pressure without looking threatening themselves until the last
five minutes when they missed a couple of good chances to win the game.

November 2005: NORTH LYNN 'A' 1-6 REFFLEY (at Heacham)
Another excellent all round team performance that saw
Reffley impose their presence on the game from the start. Their 100%
commitment and passion to win showed and the whole team worked together
going forward and defending. The goals came from Cameron Hague with
a hat trick, Daniel Howlett, Dean Whitmore and an
unfortunate own goal from North Lynn. The defending and tackling from Kai
Neve and Aidan Grange meant keeper Ben Berwick had little to do but when
needed pulled off some good saves.
20 November 2005: HEACHAM 8-2 REFFLEY (at Heacham)
Heacham closed down quickly at the start of the match denying
Reffley the chances on goal. Reffley kept their composure with good
passing, trying to break down the Heacham defence, and Dean Whitmore
eventually managed to open the scoring. Reffley continued to keep the
pressure on with further goals coming from Daniel Howlett (3), Cameron
Hague (2), Nathaniel Hazel and Lewis Davenport. Heacham scored twice but
once again the defending by Kai Gilkerson, Kai Neve and Aidan Grange
reduced Heacham's chances on goal.

October 2005: DERSINGHAM 'B' 1-3 REFFLEY (at Dersingham)
Reffley let in an early goal due to indecisive and sloppy defending but
this seemed to wake them up. Reffley then stared to work as a team
pressing forward looking for the equaliser, which came from an excellent
strike from Daniel Howlett. Solid defending from Kai Neve, Aidan
Grange and Harry Greeves kept Reffley's chances of winning high. Reffley's
Nathaniel Hazel, Daniel Howlett and Cameron Hague were creating the
chances through good passing and skill on the ball and another goal looked
within their reach. This constant pressure paid off when Daniel Howlett
scored two further goals to complete his hat trick.
29 October 2005: WOOTTON 1-10
REFFLEY (at Dersingham)
Reffley continued the good work from their first match and dominated the
game in all positions. Daniel Howlett opened the scoring and went
on to complete his second hat trick of the day and followed up with
another goal to give him four before half time. Nathaniel Hazel, Aidan
Grange and Cameron Hague also added to the scoring to give
Reffley a seven one lead at the break. Aaron Pyper was denied by the post
on his league debut when brought on after half time. Harry Greeves and Kai
Neve kept it tight at the back, helped by good decision making and calling
from keeper Ben Berwick. Benedict Hazel deserved a goal for his
efforts and came close to scoring on a couple of occasions. The match was
wrapped up with another three from Cameron Hague giving him his hat
trick and four for the match.

October 2005: MARHAM 3-6 REFFLEY (at Marham)
Reffley made a strong start with some superb passing and movement,
constantly pushing forward and creating chances. Cameron Hague opened
the scoring with Nathaniel Hazel following up with Reffley's
second. Marham then pulled one back but Reffley did not look too much
under threat. Nathaniel Hazel then scored his second of the match
with Kai Neve adding another before half time, to take a three goal
lead into the second half. Marham then scored their second with the first
goal after the break. Reffley kept playing well and were awarded a free
kick which was well struck by Aidan Grange for Reffley's fifth
before Marham pulled another one back. Dean Whitmore completed the
scoring with a goal on his league debut for Reffley.
8 October 2005: WELLS 1-1 REFFLEY
(at Marham)
Reffley slightly had the edge over Wells during a very close
encounter. Reffley opened the scoring when Nathaniel Hazel struck
his third of the day in the first half. Reffley had several good chances
but were stopped from scoring by some excellent keeping from the Wells
'keeper. Reffley came close in the second half with a shot from Dean
Whitmore hitting the post and Daniel Howlett hitting the crossbar. A one
goal lead never looked enough and this was proved right when Wells scored
five minutes from the end. The game from this point could have gone either
way but ended with both teams sharing the points.

September 2005: REFFLEY 1-0 WALPOLE (at Reffley)
A close, well fought game where both teams did themselves
proud on the opening day of the season. Reffley attacked well in the first
half but did not take their chances and were stopped on numerous occasions
by the Walpole keeper. Walpole always looked a threat on the break. The
second half was very even with Walpole shots hitting the upright and the
crossbar. The only goal of the game came with a minute from the end when Daniel
Howlett scored with a well hit shot from outside the box.
Reffley MotM: Daniel Howlett
for his efforts all over the pitch and his much deserved goal.
