REFFLEY U11's
Managers: John Marshall-Grint & Barry Fysh

SAT 28 APR 2007: TERRINGTON 1-6 REFFLEY

Early exchanges saw Reffley's keeper Jake Wilkinson in fine form, and the defence of Swales and Webb having to make make some very important blocks. Reffley settled and took the lead after 7 minutes with Charlie Collier stabbed home past the advancing keeper. They increased their lead on 16 minutes when Jacob Marshall-Grint headed home a Fysh corner. The third goal and Jacob Marshall-Grint's second came when again from a Fysh corner Collier headed back across goal for the ball to be slotted home.

The second half started in the similar vain with Reffley now well in control and they increased their lead with Lucas and Lewis Spencer working well down the right, for the latter to Rifle home from 15 yards. Lewis Spencer was again on target for his second on 45 minutes after a Harris run from defence. Terrington got a consolation goal one minute later. Man of the Match, Jacob Marshall-Grint completed his hattrick with just one minute left on the clock.

This was Reffley last mini soccer match as the move up to 11-a-side next season. If anyone is interested in trialling for Reffley next season please contact Barry Fysh through the web site www.reffley-youth-fc.co.uk

SAT 21 APR 2007: HILGAY 1-2 REFFLEY

Reffley took a full quad of Jake Wilkinson, Ben Swales, Jack Harris, Stuart Webb, Jacob Marshall Grint, Lewis Spencer, Sam Smalley, David Fysh, Charlie Collier and Ryan Lucas to this end of season Mid Norfolk Youth league match.

This was reflected in the style for football both side played. It was a very open, end-to-end game with both teams playing some very enjoyable football at times. Higay took the lead after 12 minutes, with a well taken goal. They held the lead at half time.

At the start of the second half, Reffley seam to get on top and were soon level with a Charlie Collier slotting home to the 'keeper's right from close range. Reffley continued to press and were rewarded with what ended up being the winner when David Fysh beat the defender to the ball to punt home to the keeper' left.

Once again a very enjoyable game, both teams were a credit to their managers.

SAT 14 APR 2007: REFFLEY 1-5 HEACHAM

No Match Report Submitted.

SAT 31 MAY 2007: REFFLEY 1-3 DERSINGHAM

A well contested and competative game with Reffley having several early chances to take the lead.

However it was Dersingham that went 1-0 with a well taken goal from a center from the right well taken on the volley by the visitors striker.

Dersingham increased their lead just before the brake after a defensive error permitted them stabing home a close range shot.

After the brake with Reffley still pressing, Dersingham increased their lead with a well taken goal.

Spencer Lewis reduced the deficit with 10 minutes to go with a low shot to the keepers left.

Reffley name Keeper Jake Wilkinson as the Man of the Match.
SAT 24 MAR 2007: DOWNHAM 0-11 REFFLEY

Dispite the scoreline this game produced some very good football from both teams. Played with a very good sporting spirit with some excellant refereeing by the young Downham referee.

Both sets of supporters were very well entertained. Downham were just very unlucky to be playing Reffley on a day that the entire squad was outstanding.

From keeper Wilkinson who was outstanding when called upon, with some very good saves, to the defenders, Swales (1), Harris, and Webb. Midfielders of Spencer (3), and Smalley, strikers Fysh (2) Collier (2) and Lucas(3) put on a very good display of fast flowing, passing football which was a pleasure to watch.

Well done to both teams.

SAT 03 FEB 2007: EAST LYNN 2-1 REFFLEY

This game was a credit to youth soccer, with both teams battling well.

East Lynn started well and shaded the early exchanges, Reffley's defence of Swales, Harris and Marshall grint with keeper Wilkinson all worked well together to keep East at bay until just before half time East took the lead when a centre from the right caught the keeper off his line to go into the break with the slender advantage.

Reffley came out for the second half with their midfield of Spencer, Fysh and Collier working well and force East back. After a defensive error the ball ran free for Ryan Lucas to slot into an open goal.

Both team battled well with the defences having the better of things, but with just two minutes left East completed the win with a low well taken goal from a rebound.

For the second week running Reffley name the entire squad of Wilkinson, Swales, Harris, Marshall-Grint, Spencer, Fysh, Collier, Lucas and Webb as all outstanding.

Reffley Squad: Jake Wilkinson, Ben Swales, Jack Harris, Stuart Webb, Jacob Marshall Grint, Sam Smalley, Lewis Spencer, David Fysh, Ryan Lucas and Charlie Collier.

The Reffley players were all outstanding in this very one sided game.

Reffley were never troubled in this game. They took the lead after just eight minutes when Spencer, Marshall Grint, and Fysh all combined will some very nice football to for Ryan Lucas to slot the ball home.

They increased there lead just four minutes later with a long range shot from David Fysh beating the Downham keeper high to his left. To go in 2-0 at the break.

Reffley did increase there lead with 10 minutes to go when Charlie Collier picked up a loose ball, turned, to slot home from a very tight angle to complete a very well deserved victory. Reffley name the Squad as the Men of the match.

SAT 20 JAN 2007: REFFLEY 1-3 L&B BOYS

A game very much controlled by the strong wind blowing from end to end. Reffley started by kicking with the wind and Lucas and Fysh both had chances to take the lead.

Against the run of play L&B Boys took the lead just before half time after a defensive error in the Reffley defence.

Now with the wind at there backs, L & B Boys attacked in force and could have increased there lead but for some good work by Marshall grint, Swales and Harris in the Reffley defence.

Keeper Wilkinson saved Reffley several times with fine saves before again two more defensive mistake allowed L & B Boys to increase their lead.

Reffley made some changes and Collier had two chances to reduce the arrears before David Fysh slotted in a rebound from the hard working Man of the Match, Lewis Spencer.

Played at Heacham on a very heavy pitch.

Reffley started well and were in front after 5 minutes David Fysh slotting home from close range. After some good work from Spencer and Marshall-Grint.

This seem to be a wake up call for Heacham as the seem to start winning very ball and could well have scored two or three goals but for some very fine work in the Reffley goal by Jake Wilkinson.

Half time 1-0

The second half was all Heacham the were winning very ball, stronger in the tackle. Reffley didn't seem to have a way of stopping them.

Swales, groad , Webb, ankle and Fysh, Knee all went off injured. This left Reffley down to just the 7 men.

Harris and Marshall Grint with help from midfielder Smalley defended well, but were unable to get the ball away to the forwards for Lucas and Collier.

Heacham Scored 4 second half goals to come out 4-1 victors, a game the very much deserved to wind and could well have scored more but for Man of the Match Jake Wilkinson in thr Reffley goal.

There work was rewarded with a pass from the right by Lucas for Charlie Collier to stab home the first of his two first half goals.

Just before half time Terrington pulled one back after a misjudgement in the Reffley defence.

Reffley made a couple of changes at half time a generally dominated the first 15 minutes of the second half.

They increased there lead after Lewis Spencer side footed in Lucas's low centre then Ryan Lucas himself them put the result doubt with a well taken shot from 18 yards out.

SAT 09 DEC 2006: HILGAY V REFFLEY (League KO Cup Q/F)

Reffley traveled to Hilgay for this KO Cup Q/F game by kicking up the slope and were soon in command and on the attack. Hilgay did well to hold out for the first 15 minutes with chances all going to Fysh, Spencer, Collier and Lucas until, Jack Harris rifled home a very good low shot to the keeper's right.

Hilgay's heads seem to drop and Reffley were soon two up with an o.g. deflected in by a defender from a left sided centre.

Collier made it 3-0 at the break after some fine work by Marshall-Grint and Lucas down the right.

The second half started with Hilgay pushing forward, and keeper Wilkinson made two very find saves before he was beaten to his right after a defensive error.

Hilgay tried hard to push forward, but when called upon, Reffley's defence of Swales, Harris and Webb were soon able to clear and dangers. So much so stand in keeper had very little to do in the first half.

Within two minutes of the restart, Reffley went 5 up with David Fysh beating a defender to the ball before rounding the advancing keeper to slot in this third to complete his hat-trick.

Five minutes later after some constant pressure by Reffley, they increased their lead with David Fysh beating the keeper low to his right.

It was all Reffley's play now and they capped a very fine display of football with defender and MotM Jack Harris intercepting the ball deep in his own half, beating three players before slotting it in the back of Downham net, low to the keeper's left.

SAT 14 OCT 2006: REFFLEY 5-0 HILGAY

A very one sided first half with Reffley having all the play. Lewis Spencer, Jacob Marshall-Grint and Ben Swales all having shots well saved by the Hilgay keeper who had an outstanding game. Reffley's keeper Jake Wilkinson, was just a spectator in the first half and defenders Jack Harris and Stuart Webb had very little to do. Half time 0-0.

Reffley added a fourth with David Fysh completing his hat-trick with a very good header from a hard working Spencer corner.

Man of the match: David Fysh scored his fourth and Reffley's fifth with a long range low shot in the bottom left corner. But for some very good goalkeeping by the Hilgay keeper this could have quiet easy have been a far larger score.

The best chance of the half once again went to Reffley with Lewis Spencer going very close after some very good work in mid-field by Ben Swales and Jacob Marshall-Grint. Once again the L&B keeper saved well.

The second half was possibly more even. Jack Harris and Stuart Webb both made some very good clearances. and Jake Wilkinson was in top form in the Reffley goal bringing off two very good saves.
