(Manager: Andy Watson)

REFFLEY U12's GIRLS
Manager: Andy Watson

SAT 21 APR 2007: REFFLEY 0-5 WOOTTONS

Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Ellen Heaton, Kathryn Tuck, Sophie Watson, Daniella Smalley, Shelby Calton, Megan Norris, Charmaine Wedge.

This was our last game of the season and the girls played well. The final score does not reflect on the game. The Woottons took their two chances to go in at halftime 0 2. Reffley came out for the second half full of commitment but were unable to score.

MtoM: Shelby and Ellen

SUN 15 APR 2007 HUNGATE GREENS 0-4 REFFLEY

Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Kathryn Tuck, Sophie Watson, Ellen Heaton, Daniella Smalley, Shelby Calton, Megan Norris, Charmaine Wedge.

Reffley started strongly and put pressure on from the whistle. After only a few minites Shelby scored her first goal for Reffley, which put a grin on her face for he rest of the game! More pressure followed, with the game firmly in the Hungate half, with very few runs on goal from the opposition. Daniella then scored to make it 0 - 2 to Reffley in the first half.

The second half showed no let up from the Reffley girls, again they had lots of chances and possession and played brilliantly as a team. Daniella scored a well deserved second goal after sustained attack from Reffley. The final goal came from some clever play by Sophie. Well done girls for an outstanding game of football.

MotM: The whole team again for the team spirit and determination. Sophie, Daniella and Kathryn all deserve a special mention for their hard work.

SAT 24 MAR 2007: REFFLEY 0-1 DERSINGHAM

Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Ellen Heaton, Kathryn Tuck, Daniella Smalley, Sophie Watson, Shelby Calton, Megan Norris, Charmaine Wedge.

This was a hard fought game in dreadful conditions. Both teams played very well and gave a good performance. The end result is no reflection of how Reffley played, as the girls had the majority of possession, but could not finish.

Well done girls for an entertaining game.

MoTM The whole team

SUN 04 MAR 2007: CLENCHWARTON 5-0 REFFLEY

SQUAD: Megan Heaphy, Kathryn Tuck, Lucie Gedge, Shelby Calton, Daniella Smalley, Ellen Heaton, Megan Norris, Charmaine Wedge.

This was a difficult game for Reffley and was played on a very muddy and wet field. Clenchwarton came out strong from the start and took their chances well, however Reffley kept pressing forward but were not lucky . The first half ended 2 - 0 to Clenchwarton.

The second half was much the same, but the girls did not give up the chase and kept pushing forward. Clenchwarton caught Reffley on the break when they pushed forward and scored 3 goals in the second half. The final result did not reflect the girls performance.

MotM: Shelby & Daniella for their constant running in midfield

SAT 24 FEB 2007: REFFLEY 0-6 WOOTTONS (League KO Cup - Last 16)

SQUAD: Megan Heaphy, Kathryn Tuck, Ellen Heaton, Sophie Watson, Daniella Smalley, Shelby Calton, Megan Norris, Charmaine Wedge.

This was a disappointing result for Reffley, especially considering how well the girls have been playing lately. Reffley went down to an early goal and this really set the tone for the rest of the match. Reffley went in at the end of the first half 0 - 3.

Wootton kept the pressure on in the second half, and scored another 3 in this half. Reffley were out of sorts for this match, struggling with injury and a team reshuffle.

Reffley's MoyH: This goes to Ellen for a superb defensive game and Sophie for the same. Both girls played well and never gave up.

SAT 17 FEB 2007: REFFLEY 0-7 WSM PURPLES

Reffley Squad: Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Sophie Watson, Ellen Heaton, Shelby Calton, Charmaine Wedge, Megan Norris.

This was a very hard game for the girls, and we decided to play defensively. Reffley fought hard in the first half, but against a very strong team went in 0 - 3 at half time.

More of the same in the second half, with Reffley again trying their hardest to compete and to go forward. Unfortunately despite the girls' best efforts we lost 0 - 7.

The girls should not lose heart over this, as they played very well with a depleted team. Bearing in mind that their away game against this team resulted in a 14- 0 defeat, it shows how much they have improved. Even the Wisbech St Mary coach commented on this.

On a high note we won the penalty shoot out 2 - 1.

MotM: Has to go to Shelby, Charmaine and Megan N for their efforts in midfield. Again a mention to our super goalie Megan H who made some great saves. But well done to every one.

SUN 28 JAN 2007: HUNGATE YELLOW 0-1 REFFLEY
Reffley Squad: Megan Heaphy, Kathryn Tuck, Ellen Heaton, Sophie Watson, Daniella Smalley, Shelby Calton, Megan Norris, Charmaine Wedge.

This was a very exciting game, and both teams played extremely well. Both goalies made very good saves, and both teams were unlucky not to score in the first half. The second half continued in the same way, eventually Reffley scored with a well taken solo goal from Daniella, five minutes from the end. The first game we played against this tem was a loss for Reffley by 7-0. This result shows how much the girls have improved, and their team play is now spot on. Well done to the Hungate referee, who handled the game very well.

MotM: Megan Heaphy for critical saves and Daniella Smalley for overall good play and well taken goal.

SAT 20 JAN 2007: COATES 0-3 REFFLEY (League KO Cup - Pre. Round)

Megan Heaphy, Kathryn Tuck, Ellen Heaton, Shelby Calton, Sophie Watson, Daniella Smalley, Megan Norris, Charmeine Wedge.

This was another great team performance by the girls in difficult windy conditions. Sophie opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a great strike from outside the box. After another 10 minutes of continued pressure on the Coates goal, Megan Norris scored her first goal for Reffley, going in a half time 2 goals up.

In the second half Coates put us under pressure, but the defence held up well. Daniella finished up the game with a well played goal, with Kathryn and Megan playing a big part.

Well done girls, another brilliant display.

Thanks to all the parents for turning out on a cold day.

MotM - not one girl can be singled out, again the whole team deserve this.

SAT 13 JAN 2007: COATES P-P REFFLEY (League KO Cup - Pre. Round)

SAT 06 JAN 2007: REFFLEY 3-0 WISBECH ST MARY YELLOWS

Reffley Squad: Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Kathryn Tuck, Sophie Watson, Daniella Smalley, Megan Norris, Ellen Heaton, Charmaine Wedge.

Reffley made a good start to this game and created some good chances before Daniella scored in the first half. Reffley kept pushing for another goal but had to settle for 1-0 at half time.

In the second half Reffley continued to push forward, and after several chances Sophie then scored. More of the same followed until a third goal from Kathryn sealed the victory. The girls were unlucky not to score more goals, and all played brilliantly as a team.

MotM: The whole team again for their effort and team spirit. Well Done.

SAT 09 DEC 2006: NORTH LYNN 6-0 REFFLEY

Reffley Team:
Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Kathryn Tuck, Daniella Smalley, Sophie Watson, Ellen Heaton, Shelby Calton, Megan Norris, Charmaine Wedge.

This was a tough game for the girls who had to adapt to a cold morning. The first half was very close, and Reffley were unlucky to be 2 goals down at half time.

During the second half the girls continued to try to get back into the game, with some chances on goal. Again luck was not on our side and North Lynn took their chances well which reflected in the final score. Towards the end Daniella made a solo run with the ball from her half of the field and was unlucky not to score her first goal.

MotM: Daniella for her constant running and tireless work. Keep it up Dani the goals will come!!

SAT 25 NOV 2006: REFFLEY 2-5 NORTH LYNN

Reffley Team: Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Sophie Watson, Daniella Smalley, Ellen Heaton, Kathryn Tuck, Megan Norris, Shelby Calton, Charmaine Wedge.

The blustery conditions did not help, but both teams played well. Reffley were caught napping in the first half and found themselves down 4 -0 at half time.

The girls came out for the second half with grit and determination and pulled back 2 goals , both scored by Kathryn Tuck. Reffley kept pushing and were unlucky not to score more goals. North Lynn snatched another goal late on in the second half for the final score of Reffley 2 North Lynn 5.

The girls deserve praise for their efforts and sporting attitude.

MotM - Megan Norris and Shelby Calton, two of the younger girls who never stopped running, and showed great commitment.

SUN 19 NOV 2006: WOOTTONS 3-0 REFFLEY

Reffley Team: Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Kathryn Tuck, Daniella Smalley, Ellen Heaton, Sophie Watson, Megan Norris, Shelby Calton, Charmaine Wedge.

This was a well matched game, against the top of the league team. Reffley played superb football in the first half, and were very unlucky to go in 1 down after an own goal.

Reffley came out in second half full of enthusiasm, and again played exceptionally well. After pressure from Wootton they conceded another goal. The final came near the end from a goal mouth scramble, the luck was on Woottons side today.

The girls should be proud of themselves today as they played well as a team, and they played for a win for the entire game.

Reffley MoTM: Lucie for a great defensive game.

SAT 4 NOV 2006: REFFLEY 2-1 HUNGATE GREENS

Reffley Team: Megan Heaphy, Kathryn Tuck, Lucie Gedge, Daniella Smalley(c), Ellen Heaton, Sophie Watson, Megan Norris, Shelby Calton, Charmaine Wedge.

Reffley took control of this game from the start, but were unlucky to concede a goal in the first half. Reffley kept pressing for an equaliser in the first half and had several good chances. The first half finished with Hungate leading by one goal.

Reffley came out in the second half with brilliant determination, and this was rewarded by good goal taken by Sophie. Further pressure was put on the Hungate team and again Reffley had lots of great shots on goal. Eventually they took the lead with a goal from Kathryn.

The whole team had an excellent game, and showed great commitment and attitude.

MotM : The whole team for their hard work

SUN 29 OCT 2006: DERSINGHAM 8-0 REFFLEY

Reffley Team: Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Kathryn Tuck (C), Ellen Heaton, Daniella Smalley, Sophie Watson, Megan Norris, Shelby Calton,Laura Nugent, Charmaine Wedge.

This score did not reflect on Reffley's performance as the girls played well, particularly in the 2nd half. The Dersingham side took their chances well and played better as a team. Again a good game for Lucie in defence, and Daniella in midfield. Sophie and Megan also played very well in the 2nd half.

MotM Daniella, who never stopped chasing the match.

SAT 14 OCT 2006: REFFLEY 2-5 CLENCHWARTON

Reffley Team: Megan Heaphy, Kathryn Tuck, Lucie Gedge, Daniella Smalley, Ellen Heaton, Sophie Watson, Megan Norris, Laura Nugent, Shelby Calton.

Reffley started well and opened the scring after 15 minutes with a lovely goal from Kathryn, following some good play by Megan Norris.Clenchwarton scored almost immediately, and then again to go in at half time with a 2-1 lead. Early in the second half Clenchwarton scored agian, but reffley kept pressing and Kathryn scored again to bring it io 2-3. Clenchwarton sealed the victory later in hte second half with 2 more goals. This was an entertaining game, and a credit to both teams.

MotM: Kathryn Tuck for solid effort and 2 good goals.

SAT 07 OCT 2006: WISBECH ST MARY PURPLES 14-0 REFFLEY

This was a difficult game against a far more experienced side. Unfortunately Reffley lost Megan Heaphy in goal after only 5 minutes of the first half, with a knock to the head. Kathryn Tuck bravely volunteered to take her place, with the other players having to swap around. The first half ended with Reffley down 6-0.

The girls tried hard to raise their game in the 2nd half, but it was an uphill struggle against bigger girls who were not afraid to go in for hard tackles. The Reflley girls did lose heart in the second half resulting in the final score.

The girls must try not to be too disappointed by this defeat, their opponents have been playing together for a lot longer.

MotM: Kathryn, who despite the heavy defeat, kept trying and made some good saves.

SAT 23 SEPT 2006: REFFLEY 0-7 HUNGATE YELLOWS

Reffley Team: Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Kathryn Tuck, Laura Nugent, Shelby Calton, Ellen Heaton, Charmaine Wedge.

The Reffley team played against a strong Hungate side. The result does not reflect the effort put in by the Reffley girls, who tried very, very hard. They were three goals down in the first half and conceded a further four in the second. Lack of subs meant that the girls tired towards the end, but still gave it their all. Praise must go to Megan in goal, who made some excellent saves again, and also Lucie for her efforts in defence.

Reffley's MotM: Megan Heaphy & Lucie Gedge.

SAT 16 SEPT 2006: WISBECH ST MARY YELLOW 1-4 REFFLEY

Squad: Megan Heaphy, Lucie Gedge, Kathryn Tuck, Ellen Heaton, Daniella Smalley, Sophie Watson, Megan Norris, Laura Nugent, Shelby Calton.

This was the U12 girls first league match together, and they made a good start with an early goal from Ellen Heaton. The girls continued to play well, with Megan Heaphy in goal making some excellent saves. Ellen scored again to take a 2-0 lead in the first half.

In the second half WSM got an early goal back, but the Reffley girls rallied in defence, Lucie and Kathryn played well in their positions. Ellen went to score her hat-trick and Sophie Watson followed shortly with her first goal for Reffley.

All of the girls gave their best , a good start for the new season.

Reffley MotM: The whole team.
