MAR 2007: TERRINGTON 6-0 REFFLEY
With again only 9 committed players Reffley went to Terrington expecting a
bit of a blood bath after last weeks performance, However it was like
playing a different Terrington side there was no verbal abuse or
threatening jester just a good game of football by both teams. Reffley
battled well for every ball & held their own with just 2 minutes
before the half time whistle when they went 1-0 down. The second half
started & so did the weather change the winds picked up to gale force
conditions along with short bursts of hail not the best start to the
second half Reffley conceded another 5 goals bringing the final score to
Terrington 6 Reffley 0.
Some great goal keeping from Steve
earns him Reffley's man of the match.
Another good game of football well played
to you all think what we could have done with a fully committed squad...

MAR 2007: REFFLEY 1-11 TERRINGTON
Squad: Steve, Benas, Dave, John, Lewis, Ash, Kane, Tom, Brad & James.
Reffley started the match with only 9
players Ash making the 10th player but was unable to play to his full
strength as he was carrying an ongoing injury. We possibly could of called
the match off as the pitch was not at its best with both goal lines &
the centre circle lacking some turf & quite a boggy area on the shaded
side on the halfway line. However the lads have not played a game for six
weeks & even with a reduced squad they just wanted to play football.
Reffley started very well strong & keen to win every ball
unfortunately Terrington where soon able to take advantage for our lack of
players & we went in at half time with the score line Reffley 1
Terrington 5 (Benas scoring our only goal - well done Benas).
The second half started as the first half finished Terrington gaining
another 6 goals bringing the final score to Reffley 1 Terrington 11 (this
was possibly one of the most difficult games I've had to manage so far as
the Terrington players where constantly throwing verbal abuse &
threatening jesters at the Reffley players with our past history i must
commend all our lads for not retaliating it just goes to show you where
the stronger team in the end).
Reffley's Man of the Match goes to both Lewis
& Kane. Well played & thanks to all the lads

04 MAR 2007: HEACHAM (H/W walker over) REFFLEY (League KO Cup - Q/F)
There was no match played. Due to lack of players the games was called
off.
Thanks to the players & parents that did make the effort to turn up
this morning for the cup match & pass on my apologies to them for
having to forfeit the match but due a lack of commitment from various
members of our team i had no other option.
Big thanks to Steve, Benas, James, John, Dave, Dan, Tom & Brad who all
made the effort.
Thanks also to all the parents that gave up their time.

28 JAN 2007: REFFLEY 2-11 EAST LYNN 'A'
Reffley squad Steve, Lewis, Dave, Benas, John,
Brendon, Brad, Dan, Ash, Kane, Alex & Tom.
Not a lot to be said about this weeks performance with two new players yet
to settle into the squad (Dan & Kane) East Lynn simply out played us
giving are goal keeper very little chance. Our defence where not at their
best this week allowing simple through balls to beat them, However Alex
was able to get our first goal & Ash scoring our second with a
cracking shot giving the goal keeper no chance. Although yet another heavy
defeat the Reffley lads held there heads high & continued to play
football for the full 80 minutes, Lads this is a credit to you all very
well done.
Reffley's man of the match goes to Ash for
some great work down the right side.

21 JAN 2007: REFFLEY 1-1 EAST LYNN 'B' (League KO Cup - Last 16)
(REFFLEY won 3-1 on pens)
Team Line-up: Squad Steve, Lewis, Benas, John,
Dave, Ryan, Ash, Brad, Tom & Alex.
First round of the cup (which we had no idea about so no preparation had
been done). However with only 10 men we where prepared to give them a game
& what a game it was some very good football played by both teams.
East Lynn getting the first goal but Reffley soon equalising, we went in
at half time with a score line of 1-1. The second half started well with
chance after chance coming our way but today the finish just wouldn't
come. Some brilliant midfield work from Brad to lay on shots for Alex
& Tom but some good goal keeping & defending from East Lynn
stopped the finish we where looking for. At the other end Steve had little
to do for most of the match but got caught off guard at the end of the
second half only to see Lewis make a great goal line clearance which put
us into extra time, In the last few minutes of extra time Reffley applied
pressure bombarding shots on the East Lynn goal yet again there defence
where able to keep them out. The match then went to penalty's Steve (great
work) saving 4 out of the 5 penalty's taken.
Reffley's man of the match goes to Lewis. Well played to all the lad's
& thanks for your commitment yet another great game.

14 JAN 2007: DOWNHAM 15-1 REFFLEY
Team line up: Steve, Lewis, Dave, Benas, John,
Ryan, Tom, Ash & Brad.
Downham being top of the league where going to be an uphill struggle with
11 players let alone only 9 but all the lads where up for a game &
battled well keeping the score line too 0-0 for the first quarter of an
hour, Then Downham where able to take advantage of our lack of players
taking the score line to 8-0 at the half time whistle. Reffley started the
second half well but where just not strong enough to make a dent in
Downham's defence letting in another three goal's before Ryan found the
back of Downham's net. After some very strong defending & a great goal
line clearance from Brad Downham managed to get another four goals
bringing the final score to 15-1. It would be unfair to give one player
man of the match as all players deserve it for giving 100% throughout the
whole 80 minutes. Well played lad's & thanks.
Reffley goal scorer Ryan.

07 JAN 2007: REFFLEY 3-6 WEST WINCH
Squad: Steve, Lewis, John, Benas, Dave, Brad,
Ryan, Brendon, Sam, Alex & Tom.
The score line does not reflect the match played Reffley played there
hearts out but just could not get the finish they deserved, we conceded
the first goal within mintues of the kick off only to be followed by a
second shortly after & the third goal came well into the first half.
Keeping their heads up Reffley pulled one back before the half time
whistle. After the half time team talk Reffley came on & fought to
claw back two more goals bring the score line level. West Winch played
some good football & managed to take the lead again, some good
goalkeeping from Steve & fantastic defending from Dave's goal line
clearance but again West Winch were able to get another two goal's in the
back of Reffleys net. All three Reffley goal's where scored by Alex (well
done on the hattrick) however Reffleys man of the match goes to Steve for
some brilliant goal keeping (it could have easily been 12 or 13 goals).
Well played lads great game.

29 OCT 2006: HEACHAM 13-2 REFFLEY
Squad: Steve, Dave, John, Lewis, Benis, Ash, Sam,
Dacky, Brad, Sparksy, Ollie, Bussey & Alex.
Good start to the match Reffley were keeping good pressure on Heacham with
some good football unfortunately Heacham took an early lead. With Reffley
keeping the pressure on this left a hole at the back, which with Heacham's
strong striking force they where able to take advantage & racked up a
4-0 goal difference at half time. Reffley started the second half slightly
unsettled with player changes then Bussey (carrying an earlier injury) was
substituted also Dave playing right back took a knock & had to be
replaced. by this time we where 11-0 down, Brad stepped into the right
back position doing an outstanding job to keep Heacham at bay. Reffley
then got a penalty which Sparksy was able to just slip in under the
keeper. Heacham had a few more chances making the score line 11-1. With 8
minutes to go Brad puts a long ball over for Alex his shot was saved but
the rebound was picked up by Dacky with a cracking half volley which was
almost scrambled off the line but not quite. Heacham where able to pull
one more goal out before the final whistle final score Heacham 12 Reffley
2.
Reffley's man of the match goes to Alex.

24 SEPT 2006: REFFLEY 0-13 WOOTTONS
Not quite the result Reffley needed in their first match but unfortunately
they where out classed by a stronger team today, however, all the Reffley
players gave 100% and they will learn a lot from such a defeat.
Reffley MotM: Bradley Key.
